Establish Partnerships – We will build solid partnerships with local and national community organizations and businesses. Examples include the five local high schools (Westfield High School, Centreville High School, Chantilly High School, Battlefield High School and Sterling High School), New Life Christian Churches (and other like-minded churches), Western Fairfax Christian Ministries, Centreville Community Foundation, Westfield Community Coalition, Passion for Planting, and Church Marketing Solutions. Together with these partners we will initiate outreaches that positively impact community:
-
Develop Pilot Outreaches/Initiatives in Life Skills – We will initiate several skills classes in the community
to begin building a strong reputation and broad name recognition.
Initiatives include a Student Leadership Development Internship in cooperation with local high schools and mentors
from nearby senior adult communities; English-as-a-second-language classes in cooperation with local businesses;
money management and estate planning in cooperation with local organizations; and parenting workshops.
-
Develop Pilot Outreaches/Initiatives in Life Support – We will initiate several new support groups in the community. Examples include Divorce support groups for kids and teenagers in cooperation with New Life Christian Church and Adult Support Care groups in cooperation with New Life Christian Church.
-
Develop Pilot Outreaches/Initiatives in Life Sharing – We will partner with New Life Christian Church to offer an ongoing series of fun, family oriented community events. Examples include concerts, cookouts, carnivals, family movie nights, game nights, etc.
-
Prevent Rather Than React – Many service organizations deal with the symptoms of underlying problems
(e.g. homelessness, divorce, addictions, etc.). Our strategy is to address prevention by working with people to avoid future problems.
We will also offer Life Support groups as a means of restoring people as fully functioning members of the community.
We will also support individuals who have recovered from life struggles in becoming effective leaders who can, in turn, help others.
-
Drive Teamwork and Volunteerism – The key to unleashing the power of community lies in the people. We will seek to become the recognized leader in the community for driving volunteerism. We will actively connect people with service opportunities to the maximum extent possible. Life Skills, Life Share, and Life Support outreaches and events will be staffed by volunteers who are enthusiastic about serving others and making a difference in their community.
-
Secure Name Recognition – Through our partnership with Church Marketing Solutions, we will seek to establish broad name recognition within our target audience. Priorities include designing a logo, printing high quality information brochures and business cards, mailing direct mail cards, and running feature articles in local newspapers. Each class and event sponsored by Passion for Community will be marketed including the use of flyers, street signs, and newspaper articles. We will also maintain a high quality web presence for Passion 4 Community and our affiliated outreaches.
-
Drive Funding – We will aggressively seek funding through Federal/State grants, private grants, businesses, and individual contributors. Major expenses limiting growth are expected to be facility and staffing related.
-
Procure Facilities – Life Skills, Life Sharing and Life Support initiatives and programs all require facilities. Initially, our emphasis will be on using available free public facilities and donated space. As we grow, it will become necessary to have permanent space in the community for a number of outreach programs. To secure this space, we will rent space and expand to establish Passion 4 Community centers.
